Can anyone with a dash clock on a 2009 onwards 4/4 or Plus 4 tell me the mounting distance between the rev counter bezel and the dash clock bezel? Ive looked at photos of some cars and the distance doesn't seem to be the same on all cars for some reason. I've checked that the clock wiring is there and removed the dashboard and cut the cable tie where the clock wiring is stored on the back of the rev counter. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/12/IMG_8548_LI.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/12/IMG_8552_LI.md.jpg)

I’m also going to fit the factory clock to my 4/4. I have noticed that these clocks are all fitted in slightly different positions to the RH of Rev counter (RH drive cars) The factory fitted ones seem to be fitted closer to the Rev counter and to low down, rather than being more central of the Rev counter to off side end of dash. They are also not inline centrally with the Rev counter. Maybe the factory do not template these clocks and just drill the 60mm hole somewhere near the end of the dash?

I have seen factory fitted clocks that have been positioned such that the steering wheel blocks the view! Suggest, you sit in the seat and try various positions before drilling. It’ll look better if centres of all instruments are lined up horizontally. One point to be careful of is to ensure that your chosen location will not foul the timber framework to which the dash is attached i.e. don’t go to the extreme right! Useful tip: when using a hole saw, run it in reverse for a few turns to gently scratch into the veneer before cutting, to avoid splitting and chipping. I also found that the hole was slightly tight and opened it out using an abrasive flap wheel on the drill.

That’s a great tip! Cheers Doug.

They say a picture tells a thousands words - by chance I have recently done these measurements for Craig. Note there are 2 lengths of black tape running in a straight line from top and bottom of rev counter - I'd assumed the clock would have been in line but its clearly not - well not on this one anyway! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/DSC01908-2.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/DSC01907.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/DSC01909.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/DSC01903.md.jpg)

I've just measured mine and it's 34mm between the rev counter and clock bezel. It's also centered horizontally on the same line as the others.
In normal seating position only the very bottom left corner is obscured by the steering wheel I find. I'm not certain if mine was factory fitted but would assume that it was.
Sorry, should add I have a 13" steering wheel fitted.
I can post a couple of photos if you want.

I think I’m going to fit mine here, which is 70mm from from Rev counter bezel to clock bezel, and in-line with the rev counter ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/93C853B2-67C9-4F4C-8D11-B88F28CC5B09.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/841BE435-7EEB-4897-B055-BFB4D1F579A5.jpg)

Craig, that looks fine to my eyes. The bottom picture is the exact same view I have when in the driver's seat. Strange considering mine is only 34mm between Maybe the mvi is involved as explained to me by the mechanic who serviced my car.(Morgan variable inch) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/IMG_20200613_091157646.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/06/13/IMG_20200613_091120684.jpg) Steering wheel is in lowest setting for clarity.

Gordon - it may the angle of camera but is your rev counter in tine with steering wheel centre? It appears offset compared to Craigs which looks centred on the steering wheel axis? They said no-two Morgans are the same!
