115 miles for us today, Weston-super-Mare over to Tiverton via scenic routes through Wiveliscombe and Bamford. Walked 3 1/2 miles along the Tiverton Canal towpath, picnic lunch then back home via The Brendons. Screens off (naturally) and weather stayed good throughout.

Ah,yes, usual work run, toward Wokingham this time. Sally sump plug decided to part ways somewhere on the A419, and the rest of the oil got out at the filling station, thankfully! Fortunate not to have filled up earlier and found out on the motorway at full bore. scared Tow aborted due to drivetrain and gear box pump. First sourced 4.0 V8 plug was too small. Who knew the 4.0 has a 3.9 sump doh. Spoke to many good peeps, all very kind and very helpful, but huge thanks to Tim Fry Landrover at Cheltenham for pointing it out, and having the article in stock. Disaster averted, all well and not Ticking loudly. Lesson learned, always replace crushable washer, if not sump plug also, when conducting oil change. Managed to get away with almost 5k mind happy3

Finally a proper run out yesterday - first this year. Needed to take something to some friends up in Westleton near Southwold. Cloudless blue sky so side screens off... which was a mixed blessing. Both the A12 and the back road through Snape had been "resurfaced" using that cheap and nasty technique of lobbing tons of loose clippings on a quick spray of tar. It's bad in any car but hideous in a Morgan, especially with all the 4x4s and tractors out that way. And with no side screens did get hit by a stone or two from passing cars. But that aside a lovely trip. Saw two other Morgans... one in Westleton and one near Rendlesham (who I thought could have been JohnV6, but that would have been some way away from his trip to Tesco...), plus a very enthusiastic wave from the occupant of a nice Triumph Stag. The sun visors that I have just made worked well, except that the high temperature spray adhesive from toolstation does not do what it says on the tin, and the edges of the leather peeled off in the sun. Evostick it is then....

You could always drill a small hole and wire it for added security. smile

Yesterday, I had an enjoyable and eventful run out to Bell and Colvil for them to look at a couple of outstanding issues with our Plus 4. Firstly I went to the wrong facility, I had been told but didn't pay attention and went to Horsley instead of Guildford. Anyway, I got there and parked up amongst the McLarens - it seems that they are like backsides these days ..... everybody's got one - the four seater looked properly dinky next to those sweeping big boys and a nearby three wheeler looked like a beautiful toy.

One of the issues that we needed help with was the fitting of the tonneau, when presented to the car it appeared to be 75mm too short. There is of course a trick to fitting it and I will try to post a video of the method on this forum so that others can benefit.

On the return trip I managed to get caught in the first real rain shower we've had for months, it is impressive how much water a four seater will ship in about a kilometre of driving and so spent a pleasant half hour or so mopping it all out. Guitars need hydrating every 20 years or so and I'm hoping the same logic applies to Morgans. The car has clocked up 7860 miles, just 10 miles shy of 3000 in our tenure and is settling in very nicely. I believe that it is smoother, quieter and a little quicker than when we first picked it up and I'm looking forward to the next few thousand, it seems to be getting better all the time. New boots this afternoon, Avon ZV7s going on all round.
