Simon
Firstly, THANK YOU.
This is a fine site largely frequented by fine people all thanks to you, quite honestly do whatever is easiest for you.
If you want to remove the For Sale section do it, if you want to make it 50 posts before advertising, do it. If you need help managing the site I’m sure the offers will be there.
It is your site, we are visitors. Again, thank you

Many thanks for running my favourite Morgan daily fix Simon.

The post count threshold idea above sound attractive - as long as you keep the threshold number a secret from all of us!

I’m a newbie and think the site is fantastic. I have a background in IT b******s and know just how difficult it is to set up and run something like this so a heartfelt thank you to all those involved in making TM work and also to all who contribute.

Simon,

As someone who loves this site and the contributors, I was one of the people who were not so happy with the For Sale section. I think this is due to the way the rest of TM "works" - it is really spot-on....so to find an element that was not perfect...well it just stood out!

I therefore thank you for your candid explanation and apologise wholeheartedly if - I have increased your stress level or work load. I am always happy to listen to a reasoned explaintion and you have covered off the reasons.

I do think as Paul F has suggested that a minimum number of Posts - before the For Sale section can be used IS very sensible and worked well on my previous car forum.

I have just resent my last For Sale item/post - as requested and thank you for the great job you do - best regards thumbs

The OP's advert for his 4/4 80th anniversary still hasn't appeared though?

Per Simon's comment, he may need to resubmit it as it seems a lot of mails were unfortunately lost.
