I have no complaints whatsoever with the DVLA online service and utilise its services 100%, but in this particular instance the system informs me to send the V5C etc. as further investigation needs to be made. So how long will that take in the current climate?

I eventually spoke to someone at DVLA last week after 3 weeks of attempts, she Taxed a car for me there and then by Card payment but said it would be 3 months before they could resolve any issues like plate transfers, it was a little unusual, I wanted a 3 way Transfer.

Did a plate removal on line last week printed the retention certificate , bought a car on Saturday ,did the owner change On line ,log book arrived today Wednesday ,put the Private plate on on line today , Informed insurance of the number change . All done on line and permissions printed off 3 working days in total .I was amazed and shocked at the speed .All I need now is to get the replacement V5s with the new Reg numbers. Super quick. No complaints not often I can say that.

If you do things in order and one thing at a time it has worked well using the internet and extremely quickly for simple changes.

I think they do not make it easy to do some of the more complex changes and it is hard to find an order/sequence in those cases. In their favour I have never had to speak to them as the web has done it all very well.


Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I moved house recently - mid lockdown, which was, er, interesting!

This new online service should help everyone, I used it to transfer ownership of Heather's old car to it's new owner.

On a positive note for the DVLA the Morgan tax was renewed automatically today despite the present MOT holiday conditions, so something is joined up and working.

On line, takes minutes and new V5 will be on your mat within 10 days, quickest I have seen is 3 days. Very slick these days.

Sending in by post, if system doesn't want to play, currently 12 week wait, which will grow as each week passes. Regular car dealers are having a nightmare with postal application's. Phone lines are hit and miss. When they go back they will then have a back log to go through.

I have now for years dealt with them on line. My daughter had a nightmare experience with them which meant calling in & took literally years to be solved.
