The best financial justification is if you are liable to peg it at some point and your estate will end up paying a big chunk of IHT to HMRC because you didn’t spend the money while you were here and then it will be too late. goodnight

Interesting point John, why do you say the above?

In the plus six I always feel there is so much power that you are not in control, rather you are just on the edge.
The plus four is more balanced & is very powerful but you feel more in control.
The autobox has 8 gears and the change is seamless, so you press the pedal and pow! It is nearly always in the powerband.
The manual has six gears but they are very long. 70 mph is easy in second . But to get the umph you need the turbos on song. So that implies regular gear changes.

After my drive yesterday it struck me of the parallel between Morgan and the 911, both classics with a long history that have new cars which look similar but a completely different. I think this 911 comparison video equally sums up the new and old plus 4s.

One thing is very very obvious when watching the video - old 911 v new 911, is the presenter: he drives the new one like he's stolen it? shocked2

Where the old one is respected and driven carefully, the new one "must have its neck rung".....why?

I think the same applies with the PlusSix, why jump in and boot it......you are going to get trouble, driving that way, its a bloody powerful thing.

Its as if people are surprised - the next thing is some bright spark will say it's a "widow maker" banghead

Great read. The Chaterhams are wonderful to drive but I would still take the Morgan. I can’t see me taking a Caterham on holiday
