Hello, can anyone give me some tips on fitting the Mulfab bearings and springs on my 92 4/4. I have worked on Classic cars for years but never on a Morgan suspension. The chap at Mulfab ran through the fitting instructions very quickly over the phone as if it was nothing and to be honest I expected some fitting instructions with the kit.Are the springs under pressure as on normal cars, I assume the new bearing need greasing prior to fitting etc.
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Look on the Gomog website. Also on here under classic Morgan's Dave'W has thread on rebuilding the front end

I rebuilt my front suspension back in January. Haven't driven it much but the little I have has shown a massive improvement.
Getting the top springs in and out is interesting to say the least.
Be prepared to look for other issues and repair those at the same time.
2012 Plus 4 in Sport Green. Much comfier than the Plus 8!

Hi Ken,
Dave W did an excellent thread on 18/11/18 titled ....Workshop Note: Mulfab Steering Bearings. Lots of piccies.
I'm not on commission (yet) but his book is a good read.
Use search at the top of the page, enter "Mulfab", go to page 5, scroll to bottom.
A spring compressor that snugly fits helps. If concerned stuff the underwing with your wife's best duvet and keep your teeth out of the way!

Ken,
If you haven’t already done so have a look at the “gomog” website for kingpin removal.
The “alternative” method shown is quite straightforward and should not necessitate use of a compressor.

PS The Mulfab one is also wrong in several of the stages, it was rewritten and this is the earlier version (I don’t know who the author is) that Peter asked me to do again...., you can spot the fitting instructions I wrote as they all have a ‘copyright Mulberry Fabrications’ at the footer.
Looks like the new owners didn’t get or haven’t used the new version. Sadly I have changed laptops since then (it was years ago) and no longer have a copy.

Colin All the bumf on the new website is the same stuff I wrote when I redid the Mulfab website 9 years ago.... Although I have noticed they've managed to add some spelling mistakes
