I never rated MGAs until I sold my Bv8 to a guy with one.
It was a 1600Mk2. Perfectly restored. He took me for a run over the Yorkshire Wolds on a perfect summers day. It was hugely impressive. Tight, no rattles, quick enough to be fun, and a lovely exhaust note.
That single experience changed my views completely.

It went for $14,000, the same price that Wheeler Dealers paid for theirs. After a refurb, it was sold for $35,000 (and values may have risen since then). But their £6,500 profit did not include labour costs, which would have been substantial.
