Actually if I attract evil looks I just invert the scone as if you read from the bottom up it solves the issue (but I bet it doesn’t ;-))

BR

My mate has just got a job making plastic Draculas.

There's only two of them working there, so he has to make every second count.

I like that solution, I have a smilar practise when visiting our son and his South African girlfriend of 18 years now and she became a dual national round 10 years ago in the Truro Council offices having answered numerous questions about Britain that I certainly couldn't have answered including naming the present national Football and cricket team members..
They presented her with a most delightful Cornish Silver Celtic knot and she is a fierce Vortrekker/Kernow lady now.

So my procedure is real Devon with Cream on first jam on top ( that's the only way to get enough cream ! ) and when we visit them I put the lid on and eat half of it up one way and and then invert it it to finish it off wink and that seems to keep us all in harmony..

That's four of us in the pie appreciation group then smile

We need to get to Plymouth for an Ivor Dewdney pasty. They are great. and I see they offer them by post now (once covid is over)
Pasties
Richard I agree cream of first, but like Dave W if there is a risk to the ingredients then either way works.
