Have you decided on front spring combo yet Rob or are you sticking with the original 140 lb inch main springs and matching rebound? From what I saw the OE ones with top steering bearings, say extra 5mm, will give same amount extra ride height. Comparing with Roadster springs yesterday they seem not to have lost any of their free length in 20 years as the low mileage softer Roadster ones were still shorter although we didn't compare rebound springs.

All I can add is the Roadster Combo when on mine with OE top steering bearings and Wolf lower ones (3mm extra) still allowed rebound springs to just turn with static load, which is the desirable aiming point to avoid the initial high spring rate when both in play.

My plus 8 has 67k miles. It has hard chrome kingpins and I have done 37k . No wear detected. I grease at 1k miles. I have fitted AVO shocks all round and new callipers from Librands with stainless flexi hoses. The main springs are Librands but no details about when fitted by previous owners.
Upgrades? New springs with bearings or SSL? I would go springs/bearings unless a test drive convinces meotherwise to go SSL.
