Ford did take care of that roof issue. There is at least 1(GT). That 1 was givien to Dan Gurney...Hence the Gurney bubble. Im sure one could convince Ford to make another one.

Didn't Clarkson have a Ford GT at one stage? He didn't fit in a real GT40 I remember!

Yes and I recall low mpg and a dodgy alarm system??
My rule of thumb is that any car Clarkson likes I probably won't.

And it being too wide for him to drive down country lanes near his Oxon country pad?? Didn't he also take a front wing off trying to drive over one of the London bridges? That guy has no mechanical sympathy whatsoever G

Didn't Clarkson have a Ford GT at one stage? He didn't fit in a real GT40 I remember! He did and in typical Clarkson fashion, it was a total drama. He bought one of the 101 cars imported to Europe officially by Ford. It had an after market alarm installed, which buggered up the electrics of the car, and he blamed Ford. Ford took the car back, fixed it and Clarkson missed it, so he bought it back. I'm 6.3" and I don't fit comfortably in the Ford GT; however, there is a kit to lower the seat base. The Gurney bubble on the GT40 does give the right head clearance and the fact that the seat sits on the floor is also a help. The LHD Ford GT is quite scary to drive on country roads in the UK - I've been out in one and the owner made it clear that he only drive it on main roads because to do otherwise was a license to ruin/destroy the car.
