I have purchased a new plus 4 110 with adjustable shock absorbers and would like to know what’s the best settings for a comfortable every day use as at present it seems very hard and uncomfortable.
I was informed it was at setting 0

First wait until kngpins bedded in, at least 1000 miles. Start at the weakest (knob clicked to max anti-clockwise) or close to same on front shocks. If the range is around 15 clicks weakest to firmest, go up (screw clockwise) two clicks and check out car on moderately bumpy road. Look for front end bouncing. Keep increasing similarly and you should feel them firming up the ride, there will come a magic point where the bouncing stops but because of this the ride although firmer becomes more comfortable. You may want to back off a click or two if ride really is too firm. Note if you have Spax gas front shocks they have around 32 clicks so go up four at a time.
With the rear I find its not so easily defined but basically similar procedure to suit and depending on passengers, luggage etc. A local Asda car park has very narrow but steep speed bump's. If you can find similar then driven over very slowly you can measure the damped bounce front then rear. A single return (bounce) and a bit suits me, certainly no more than one and a half.

Ive got New Elms AVO adjustable shock absorbers on my 4/4. New Elms recommend 4 clicks front and rear out of I think 16 setttings. I did fiddle with them a lot when I first got them but have settled on 2 clicks front and rear.
The cars ride is quite good on most surfaces and the car is actually very comfortable but I do try and avoid potholes and bad roads.

As your car beds in and loosens up adjust them to suit. Properly greased front suspension and chain lube on the rear leaf springs help, as does trying different tyre pressures. Start a diary to keep track of your progress.
