+1. Maybe with the obligatory stop at the Cider Bar in Newton. There again maybe not! To collect carry out maybe. Otherwise we'd need local accommodation!

Egypt are trialling a new way of reducing the stress associated with Coronavirus in big cities. In Cairo they have found that when you feel stressed while driving if you sound your hooter it helps reduce your tension. The initiative is to be called the Toot'n'Calm Em

Best pies in the World are found in New Zealand !! ..... I'll just leave that there for discussion. I have to say that the Pie Floater that I had in Adelaide a couple of years ago was particularly fine. It is very hard to beat a Pie Floater with Mushy Peas, after a night on the "rantan" in Kings Cross (Sydney), from Harry's Cafe de Wheels at Woolloomooloo. Mind you it must be nearly 50 years since I last spent a night on the "rantan" in Kings Cross although I did have a pie at Harry's last time I was at Woolloomooloo 😋 Harry's Cafe de Wheels has been near the Garden Island Naval Base for so long it has become a Sydney institution. If Graham (our resident salty sea dog) ever docked in Woolloomooloo I am sure he would have tried one of Harry's pies too.

Sadly, I was only on a ship in Sydney once, somewhere around 1981. I joined a bulk carrier at a new bulk coal loading berth at Balmain No1, just around the corner from the Opera House The vessel was there for considerably longer than planned as the bulk loader kept breaking (part of it collapsed at one stage prior to my joining.). Fortunately, those extra days allowed me to get up country to meet second cousins in Coffs Harbour and a Great Uncle and other second cousins in Woodenbong (pop 271 IIRC according to the sign entering the town). I've been back a number of times since, but not via ship.

We made a point of visiting Harry’s cafe last October when we were in Sydney. Great pies and certainly worth searching out.
