Excellent idea to have them so they can be swooped. I wish I could do that on my 4/4.

I think he was trying to make a U-turn, and we have all heard that the turning circle isn't great...

That is odd, because it is a link to the MMC M3W site. Try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CvVr9jU4I0&feature=player_embedded

sorry, installed the "plug-in",
got new apple at the office,
still kept the old pc to "gently move over to the fruity side"

Wasn't he just, as the Americans call it, "banging a Uey" and didn't see the dip in the verge?

Cheers

About 10 years ago, I was driving through a curvy canyon road in Los Angeles with lots of switchbacks. I was in a Miata and driving nearly at the speed of light. A magnificent beast of a vintage open sports car got on my tail and I couldn't shake it for the next several minutes. The next morning I saw the same car parked in Beverly Hills, and stopped to see it. There was Jay Leno alongside, and he eagerly told me it was an early-'30s Bentley in an industrial polished metal finish... I've since forgotten the ungodly horsepower and other details, but to say that his open race car was magnificent would be a gross understatement. When I first saw Morgan's 3 Wheeler online, it yanked me back to the same primal feeling I got that day when I saw his menacing Bentley. How cool and ironic that we're standing in line together now waiting to get the same car. P.S. The purport was that Leno was driving better that day. Hahaha.

Steve, thanks for adding those links!!! The car I spoke about was indeed Leno's '29 Speed Six... I had the year wrong by a couple, but that's certainly the exact same car.

Here's another better link of the Speed Six, including a good test drive with Leno: '29 Bentley Speed Six

In the video, Leno spoke about the 'fear' that would be incited when seeing his Speed Six appear in one's rearview mirror... that is EXACTLY what happened with me, as he menaced me and my poor Miata! The thrill of seeing that car driving, and then close-up-in-person, was incomparable.

I don't doubt that the Morgan 3 Wheeler will provide the same sort of driving thrill, in a modern maintenance-free compact package.

What a great experience Steve. When you get your 3W, you can imagine someone posting on another motoring forum somewhere "I was followed by a strange vintage car and I couldn't shake him off", etc. grin2

At the beginning of the Leno video, at :09 to :10 (seconds), there is a light blue Morgan at the factory. For those of you familiar with standard colors, is this an example of Sport Teal? More so than other colors, there is a wide variation of Sport Teal from the online "Showroom" to other photos, road test cars, etc. I like the look of Sport Teal in the Showroom photo, but in other photos it looks much more pale than what I'd like. I'm trying to get a good 'read' on it to see whether this color might be a contender. Thanks!

Charles Morgan usually gives a brilliant interview, but he misinterpreted Leno's favorable quip, "... [in] this, you go 40 [MPH}, and you feel like you're going 100." The editors did a near-seamless job of minimizing Morgan's consternation over the remaark, thankfully – and the occasion was saved!
