Richard Thompson did MGB-GT but it wasn't one of his better efforts. Indeed .... one of my favourite guitarists .... not on a par with his greatest songs .... but it is about a specific car  For me, if it's got a solid named car reference then up it goes ..... matters of taste will be left to the assembled multitudes! K

When I was at Southampton Uni in the early 80s we used to go up to the Onslow Arms on Friday evenings to hear the Bob Pearce blues band. Bob was a great bloke, and one of his compositions was a song called 65 Chevvy - the first track on this album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gdbcKr0luIHis keyboard player was a really young guy called Carl Sonny Leyland who played a really mean boogie boogie. Carl moved to New Orleans in 1988, and I understand he has quite a following in the states.
