On a recent visit to a local seaside resort in Kent I parked the Mog in the main car park, bought a ticket, placed it on the dash, or whatever it is called in a Morgan, and went about my business.
Upon my return there on the windscreen was the dreaded yellow fine sticker. It seems that the inevitable draughts ocurring inside a Morgan with the hood up and parked had taken their toll on my tiny, flimsy parking ticket. It seems that due to cost savings the local council have removed the adhesive from the tickets allowing the happy little ticket the complete freedom to fly around the inside of my car.
I eventually found the ticket on the passenger seat and it still had a hour to go. I found the ticket inspector who appeared to be a superannuated reincarnation of an SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer and explained my predicament. The self-important oik explained to me that the fine was for non display of the ticket not necessarily the expiration of the ticket.

..................if I am boring you, please let me know.

The outcome was that I wrote to the local council, enclosing a picture of said ticket and won my case.

The moral of this story is get one of these, they only cost pennies, if you want to avoid a fine.

Thanks - that’s a good idea

When I’ve parked up the Mog with a ticket, I’ve always taken a photo of it on my mobile, just in case someone nicks it or it falls off

I do the same Stewart, but I also lodge the ticket under the windscreen wipers.

At a reasonably local and semi prosperous village shopping center car park, where there is a ticket machine in operation, it seems natural for folk to buy a ticket even if they might even only intend to spend a few minutes in a shop, then on returning to the car park if they spot someone about to buy a ticket they hand their previously purchased ticket to the new entrant...A decent example of the good side of human nature...?

But someone has to pay for the ticket machine and maintaining the car park... hmm..?

As for boring folk athelstan, that is my job on this forum... laugh2

I have a clear plastic clip stuck on the inside of the windscreen to hold tickets. Low down central and nearly invisible. I also photograph a ticket in this clip showing it being displayed. Writing the reg number on it is a good idea to link it to the car if none is printed already. Stops someone taking it for their car!

Ours have the Reg number printed on the ticket thus avoiding Georges benevolence, which was common practise amongst locals

These things will arrive in Mexboro some day innocent

Javier, use a paperclip or a clothes-peg.
I never had a problem with those and parking tickets
