USB3 is backwards compatible to USB2 devices, so it should not matter that the laptop is USB3.

My guess would be that Windows 10 is not compatible with the S&S driver, but it’s just a guess.

following.... but then again my son calls me a luddite.... I don't know what mud has todo with it.... but sadly, in the 1970's I met and wed a woman who was on the cutting edge.... I keep saying "really".... after 43 years it is hard to admit..... well you know where that is going...

I still want REAL books!

I just plugged in my 2019 ecu and read the map as much as I could understand it. I did find that the adaptive maps are maxed out.
But it runs great. All using Windows 10.

My check engine light went out when I installed MorganCustoms fuel system and the lamp has yet to show itself.

I guess my idiot light is in fact a true idiot light. As explained before, when I went to the garage a week ago to check this idiot light, the historic and live alarms boxes were empty…. but the engine-check light was still ON in the dashboard. The ones who looked like dumb and dumber were myself and the Morgan technician. How is it posible to have the alarm light ON but nothing happening according to the diagnosis software?

And here comes my fear: if at any time there is a REAL problem, but I ignore it thinking it's just this idiot light ON again, and the engine is damaged…. who's fault is that? My bet: the garage and Morgan will say I was driving despite the idiot light was ON, so it's my fault and they won't cover the repair.

This is why I'm so much interested is getting into the ECU on my own! So I can re-assure myself that the idiot light has no real warning behind, instead of coming back and forth to the garage everytime is gets ON to be told it's a fake alarm.

You could put a spot of black tape over the lamp so it would be easier to ignore😂?

Won't work with me. Unfortunately I'm some kind of maniac of perfection,.. And hiding something won't make my brain forget about it… irked

I get zen and admit many imperfections in my life and around me, but an engine-check warning light in one of my cars... this can destroy my neuronal stability party

rofl

I'm going tomorrow to the Morgan garage to check with them again about this idiot light. It's just 5 minutes drive away from home. Really just 5 minutes drive away! I'm really lucky to have the dealer's garage so close! grin2

My closest dealer is 5 hours, and Morgans are just a side job for a big car dealership. Then there is Morgan of New England... probably a day or more away.

Really sorry to read of M3W issues, and not surprised by software issues and the inability of even some professionals to resolve them. When I had a brain I used to work with some of this stuff on a variety of kit, and found it somewhat frustrating, which is one of the reasons I am pleased to run a pre digital Morgan.

That aside by way of perhaps increasing understanding of digital issues and fault finding you might like to beam up this NON MORGAN but none the less educational link relating to a far more complex digitally controlled vehicle with a very simple problem, the diagnosis of which sees to have defeated a few specialists, but then specialist in all areas of life may have variable levels of skill..?
