What a coincidence! We saw an XK150 Roadster on a trailer when we were on the Autostrada today. It has racing numbers and two names (driver and navaigator?) so probably they were using it in classic rallying. I doubt actual racing as it had no roll bar etc.

There are some dangerous toys on this website. From memory the frame flexed a bit on hard braking.

I thought this was a nice little car in need of some TLC but stylish and well priced.

I wanted one of those years ago. The frame flexed a bit under any circumstances (I think one road tester described it as having a hinge in the middle) grin2
That engine will need a bottom up rebuild if it has not been run, unless the new owner only intends it for static display.

Somewhere I had a copy of a comparison review of the then available 750s. Interestingly the Moto Guzzi 750 Sport had the highest top speed of 205 km/h but the speedometer registered 200 km/h. The Honda and something else which I don't recall had speedometers that registered 200 km/h or slightly more but actually achieved about 195 km/h. The comment about the Kawasaki triple was that it probably had a higher potential top speed but none of their test riders was able to find the limits because the bike went into a terrifying tankslapper at speed because of the poor quality of the frame and "cycle parts" (ie forks, steering bearings, dampers, etc.)

In Australia, and probably elsewhere, they were known as the "widowmaker". Often riders found that the brakes were so poor that they could not slow down at the end of a high speed run on a long straight and finished up decorating the countryside scared
