Lovely looking car Pete, I'm sure it will sell.the market is there, Allon White sold 9 cars in the first week after opening following lockdown and MMC sold their entire stock of used cars within the first two weeks.

I think you just need a little bit of patience, Pete. Your car is extraordinary. In Germany, the three original factory dealerships don't sell used 4/4. They don't have at least one. This one in the link below, from an independent dealer, I found on mobile.de. It is also a 80 anniversary which is significantly more expensive than the normal 4/4. Ok, these are receivables and not real sales. But I would wait in your place and not offer it cheaper. https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/...hId=abd751ea-078c-12b5-47a1-59320c8725e5It is different with Morgan. My dealer was able to sell my lush green Roadster 3.0 series 2 11 years ago to Spain in 12 hours for a very good price. I couldn't sell my series 3 roadster sport in Teal for almost two years although it was a great car in 2014. My Plus4 Supersport I could only sell after 1,5 years in 2013 because people were afraid that it has no OBD2 plug. Today the new owner drives it only on the racetrack. What I want to say is that your car is extraordinary and very desirable. The new CX Morgan has absolutely nothing to do with it, because we would be talking about a different target group and double the amount of money. Perhaps you or your dealer will also place your 4/4 on mobile.de. There are enough people in Europe (people look at mobile.de in whole Europe) who like to buy a right-hand drive car. And there your price of 39K GBP would be very attractive. In general, it is in Germany at the moment so that the classic market has become slightly better in the last 6 weeks. I wanted to sell my 1973 911T Targa, but the price was too bad. Now I have found a dealer who wants to pay 16.000€ more than I would have gotten four months ago.

Cheers guys!
I am not in any rush to sell... I don't 'need' to sell, so patience is no problem...
Rather it's the thought of having the car sit with MR for maybe the next 1.5 years??? until I can get back to the UK...!
Hopefully someone who really appreciates the 4/4 and the desirability of the limited edition 80th will see the car and that will be that!
I will ask MR about putting it on the mobile.de site, thanks for the heads up on that.
It's on Pistonheads and that's well know by most 'petrolheads"! :>)

Here in Oz, things are (thankfully) very different... cars are selling quickly, pretty much at pre-Covid levels... So I don't have 'feet on the ground' in the UK...
Your car is lovely, hopefully you sell it. Out of three cars I own two got hail damaged in January and I have bought two replacements. Not sure were in Oz you are but virtually everyone where I work bought new/second hand cars as every car in the car park was written off. I am in Canberra, one car I got from down the coast at Batemans Bay 160km's away, the other being a Frontline Spec MGB that is currently being stripped I ordered from Sydney 300km away. I wanted something special after that storm. The Skoda Rapid manual (my wife loves it so glad I found another one, stupid Skoda Australia thinks we prefer autos so removed the manual from the line up a few years ago) was put up for sale at 10pm, I woke up grumpy about the hail storm at 2pm and my written off Silvia, found it and sent the seller a message, paid a deposit over the phone at 8am and went down the next day to test drive it and pay for it in full. When I saw it the dealer said he was surprised how much interest he had with phones calls after me, I guess I was lucky I got in while everyone was still in shock. To me I noticed a very high demand for cars locally but I think it was caused by the most damaging hail storm I have ever seen, add the number of cars written off in Sydney and Melbourne from other hail storms about the same time plus those caught in the bushfires earlier in the year and car dealers have had a ball with the demand. The demand has been kept up during the year by the staggering of cars running out of registration. In my case I kept my Silvia until May when it ran out and used it to go shopping, drive to work etc. when I knew it was not going to rain (no roof left), a mate just bought a new car as his car runs out next month. So as long as the car is drive-able even if not able to pass the yearly inspection many people have been keeping them hoping for the demand to drop and hopefully make it a buyers market again.

Well...
OMG... just had the news that it has just SOLD!
Just 3 weeks after advertising.
Feel gutted....
Or happy. I have no ff...g idea! All I do know is C19 has changed all our lives.
I was SO looking forward to living with and loving my lovely 4/4... especially after all the TLC and other stuff... but I gather 'she' has gone to a good home.
I think I will now have another glass of wine... actually, I feel really sad :<((
Thanks for some great 'chats' on here guys. You are a great group. Hoping one day if I manage to get back 'home', I may well be back.
In the meantime, please take care, drive with care, enjoy and keep SAFE.
Pete

Pete, I understand how you feel, part relief and part grief. But you're always welcome here at TM, and I don't think I'm the only one seeing it that way.

Pete, glad and sad you have sold the car but the opportunity will return sooner rather than later we hope for you. Please don't be a stranger on here, as I said before we need someone with current CAA knowledge to keep us all in order we have all learnt a lot from you. Take care and all the very best for the future
