This is exactly the reason why every Morgan owner needs a lathe. It would be a complete doddle to make up a replacement in silver steel and harden it rather than just replacing it with another mild steel pin that's going to wear again. Would that not wear the hole in the clutch pedal? If that's the case I'd rather replace the clevis pin every so often as it's not much of a job.

Periodic lubrication of these is on the servicing schedule, but I suspect is often missed, if the pin is dry & not rotating that's the classic photo of the wear you get
So, a little job for the weekend chaps ? Absolutely, unless the forward edge of the carpet looks a bit oily it hasn't been done.

As Cooperman points out, best to ensure it's regularly lubed.

Having (in my early years) worked on many vehicles with rod brakes I would rather change a dozen worn clevis pins than a dozen rod ends! As Stirling Moss said when someone criticised him for not changing down and using the brakes more often “which would you rather pay for old man, brake pads or gearboxes?”
Lube helps a lot.

It would be a complete doddle to make up a replacement in silver steel and harden it rather than just replacing it with another mild steel pin that's going to wear again. My Myford Super Seven lathe made this an easy job. I made up the new clevis pin out of a standard 10mm bolt. Hardening is absolutely not necessary in my opinion as these clevis pins can be replaced in a few minutes. A hardened pin will just move tear and wear over to the pedal and the clutch master cylinders connection fork
