I've been looking for a seal for my Trad hood as well. I've got some stuff from a DIY place but the choice was white or brown only. Never realised Holdens did rubber seals...I get too distracted by their other stuff! A good reason to pop down there for a browse, talk myself out of a flying jacket and pop into the "Live and Let Live"!!

I have just re read this thread with rather more attention as my return from the alps yesterday was the first time I've driven any distance with the hood up. We drove through rain of biblical proportions and we had rain pouring in between the hood & the top of the screen. I guess one would have to glue the rubber strip to the top of the screen rather than to the hood as I can't see it staying stuck to the hood.
It did occur to me that an alternative might be to cut a couple of strips of ply or aluminium to follow the contour of the screen that sticks up proud of the screen say 8mm. Rubber backed and fixed in place by studs secured in the fittings which I suppose are intended for sun visors it would compress the sausage seal on the hood. Any ideas ??

Just put a strip of "P" rubber across the top of the screen. It is self adhesive, lasts at least a year of constant use and is cheap!! Get it from B&Q or the like. This problem does NOT need an expensive solution!!

Morning all,
I tried the windscreen/P-strip solution (found the strip at Leroy Merlin in France) but decided (the wife told me) the screen looked a bit naff with the hood off.
So, after thouroughly cleaning the underside of the (Everflex) hood where it fits against the 'screen, I put the P-strip on the hood instead making sure that it locates at the front at the screen (not the top) so that the joint is better compressd when the hood is tensionned (I hope this makes sense...).
Suprisingly, it works very well and even folds up easily when the hood's stowed (over 12/15 times already since mid-March this year).
No doubt I'll have to replace every year or so, but it seems worth it.
Oh, and an added bonus is that it also prevents those dammn midges from sneaking in between the hood and windscreen when driving on damp evenings...
