Their cars are anything but "normal" and I think this Plus Four is going to be a great success for them and am excited about the prospect of a test drive in the auto one when I think it's safe to do so.

They will always build special products it's just that we have to adapt to the future of their business as they change their customer base or wither on the vine.

I can't think of any other "normal" car producer that allows you any amount of visits to watch your car being built, that really is a priceless experience.

No tonneau won't be a deal breaker for me as I'm sure this can be got around after warranty.

The plus four is a great drive. The auto box power delivery is very addictive. Lack of storage makes it though not so practical. I am sure MMC will do very well with it.
Richard Hammond was on radio 4 this morning & said the only modern car he has was I think an audi the rest are 1920s cars. So maybe he has sold the Plus Six.

While I can't comment on the electronics and warranty bit, but to me I would think it's just a feasibility issue of the current design more than anything.

Case in point are the two high level brake lights. My guess is that the tonneau would have to cover the whole of the rear of the folded top which would block the lights. Perhaps plastic inserts could be sewn in but I'd image there would be some alignment issues and maybe even legal issues in covering brake lights.

If someone were to make a cover like had cutouts for the lights, I'm not sure I'd want one as it would let water in which defeats the whole purpose.

Just a thought.

I wonder if they’ll do an old style, nine stud hood again, I know it’s not as popular but I really like mine and much prefer the sleek rear end look. Anybody know what the ratio of easy up to nine stud was at the end of the last traditional car production run?

I do not know what the hoods are like on the new models but if it can be put up in a minute or so, is a cover needed?

Agreed, the line is far better as it is with the tonneau cover that comes with the studded hood.

We only use a tonneau cover when touring - mainly to keep the luggage under control. Sean at Allon-White made me up a tonneau cover with a transverse zip. It acts as a luggage cover when moving and a quick fit complete tonneau cover when we stop. Other than that, I just put the roof back up - it takes seconds.

As the centre brake light is integrated into the base of the easy up top, two in fact on the Plus Four, I can't see how they would be able to get a studded roof to work unless they bring back the cyclops type light from before. As it's a new car, there are regulations surrounding brake lights and having to be fixed and my guess is this is the reason around it all.

Long live the studded roof smile

I must say that I am surprised that a tonneau cover is not available as an option but I am sure many dealers would be able to fit one.

The lack of a cover was the first thing I asked my dealer about when I took delivery. They said that unfortunately any metal part on top of the dashboard was now strictly prohibited by EU regulations, as such it is now unlawful to fit a tonnau cover. :-/
