Well done. These trays are so much better than what Mr Morgan supplies

Just finished my hood stays I think about the next DIY.

A tooltray. As I see the actual postings I remember this one (and there was a second one from a munich Morganeer which was lasercutted - the tooltray, not the Morganeer).

I think it would be worth to think about the tooltrays as a fixed top point and collect all ideas at one point?

René

Just I found the Munich tooltray. It was at "classic Morgans"

I started on a wooden tool tray but gave up when I found that my four-leaf springs had dropped the body to the point that the space available wasn't much better than the MMC one. Indeed, there were signs of the diff casing meeting the underside of the original. Sulk, sulk

The diff always hits the old tray. PM me your email & I can send you a design. the space is achieved behind the diff.

John makes a good point. The space is behind and to the sides of the diff. I have a good 3" of internal depth on my wooden concoction and the ply is only 12mm thick over the diff. Just ask if you need any dimensions and I can measure it and make a little sketch.

On my '76 the top of the diff used to hit the parcel shelf (no tool tray back there in those days). Car probably needed new springs... smile

I'm not up to this metalwork malarkey so when it came to making a wooden tray, to accommodate the diff I bought some bendy plywood off ebay, glued several layers together and clamped them into shape while the glue dried. I can't remember where I got the inspiration for this technique from. [Linked Image]

Very nice indeed. Lovely bit of cabinet making. Looks like its for a pre damper hoop car.
