Hi, Stewart,
maybe I missed it in the thread and I read it again, do you have a remote control with the Pioneer Radio?
I wanted to google if there is the same quality of head unit from Pioneer, but without CD drive?

Yes there is a small IR remote that comes with the unit which is handy - haven’t used it yet as I haven’t properly set it up. I’ll do a full eq set up when I have the sub in

I don’t know whether there is a similar unit without the CD, I didn’t look as I still want to use a CD player occasionally

Hi, I had this issue with my MOG (Marty), I elected for the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 (DAB), which is a classic look, traditional high quality radio with 2 x usb ports (No CD) and many features, also comes with remote (necessary to avoid crashes when seeking to change stations or tracks). Not cheap at around £395 but quality isn't!!
Looks great when fitted and when I had my centre armrest made up I had a depression built in to house the remote!!!

Just before I took my Mog into Lifes to sort a misfire problem, I made a bit of headway fitting the subwoofer

I pealed back the carpet and fitted some Dynomat behind where the sub woofer is destined to fit and also on the floor under the footwell mats

Holding up and drilling for the sub mounts looked tricky so I made a card template instead so I could be a bit more accurate

While the Mog is at Lifes I’ll solder up my leads and connections ready

Well I got my Mog back from Lifes on Friday - all OK and running sweetly

So yesterday I spent most of the day finishing off the subwoofer installation. Fed the power back to the battery so I don’t overload the existing 10amp supply to the head unit. Managed to conceal the wire all the way through the cockpit by unscrewing the carpeted trim bits and tucking underneath

Still a bit of tidying up of wires to do and I’m going to set my crossovers in the amp this morning before I head off up to Lowther Castle for a picnic with FellMog

I’m thinking of setting the filter crossovers between the sub and speakers at 125 Hertz - what so others think?

Not sure about the wisdom of a sub-woofer old chap! .... probably fine for the country album but might be wise to stay away from King Crimson .... shake every joint on your ash frame loose !! smile

Looks like a good setup .... bet it sounds great.

All installed with carpet back in

I put some black acoustic carpet on the bottom of the sub so it’s very discrete, in fact I can’t see it at all when casually looking in the footwell

I put the gain controller strapped to the roll bar

It sounds fantastic, really pleased

Nice unobtrusive job for so much sound.... needs a good test run to your favourite soundtrack to bed it in now!
