Good question, but if they are not proudly advertising that endorsement I doubt that they would qualify.

I checked with Antigravity and their batteries offer much the same as EarthX and in the size recommended for the big V-Twins the Antigravity are less money. I think they are also a better fit in the the existing holder and since they have lugs on all 4 corners it is very adaptable and useful. They even offer a Bluetooth App for your phone that will tell you battery conditions real time and will send you an Alert when the battery is getting ready to go into protective Shutdown Mode. Very cool.

Just ordered one so in a few weeks (back ordered) I should know if it is as easy and works as described. 900 Cranking Amps...

Another impressive part for Antigravity is their Customer Support was prompt when I wanted to talk with a Tech about what it could or could not do. I pointed out that their website said a different battery would work. He said it would not and advised the larger capacity and advised against the Re-Start model battery they offer.

I have the earthx an no issues with a couple thousand miles using it. It cranks up and before the Emil gas system I had to crank a bit more than normal and the battery never let me down. The banner always scared me during my longer cranking sessions. I have killed the battery a couple times (ie left the key and the ignition on) and each time the battery recharged with no problem. The battery size is smaller but it fit in with no customizations on my part. They are amazingly light.

I have had no problems with lead acid, winter cold starting, since replacing the original cheap Banner battery with a Yuasa and the rectifier with an H-D Softail 74540-0. This charges even at idle at 14.2/14.3V which the original CE601 never did and the headlights don't dim as the revs drop any more either. I was also considering changing at some point to lithium and spoke to Ultrabatt. They recommended a pair of Ultrabatt UB-12400MM+ which come with a parallel link kit. They said they would work well with an H-D regulator but probably not with the original C-E regulator, where the charging voltage would be too low. The other thing Ultrabatt said was that you should use an external Lithium 12V charger conditioner every two months or so, to equalise cell voltages in the battery. If you get a CTEK one, this can also be left connected to a vehicle in storage.

I wonder how that works? Is there a balancing port of some kind on the battery for an external charger to see the individual cells? I would expect any self-respecting automotive LiPo/LiIon/LiFe battery to have built-in balancing whatever the input voltage is...

Both the EarthX and the Antigravity LiOn have Active Battery Management Systems that control the charge for to high and to low. Antigravity’s battery has an option that will allow you to check on battery condition from your phone. It also sends you a text that the battery is getting to low and will soon go into shutdown mode giving you time to start the vehicle.

I've been using a Magnetti Marelli 53034 Lithium for over 4 years and 24,000 miles without problem. For about 2/3 of this I was running the original CE rectifier and then switched to a Harley type.

It's never been on a conditioner (I disconnect it when the car's not going to be used for more than a week or two) and consistently charged at 14.4v on the CE and 14.3v on the Harley.

On the Banner I am getting a charge of 14.4 to 14.5v. To high? CE rectifier.

Sounds OK, you could put a voltmeter on the battery to see how accurate the car volt reading is. My Mustang dash reading is too low & varies for no apparent reason.

Both Porsche and Bugatti, who both use12V lithium car batteries recommend the regular use of a Lithium battery charger and conditioner. Bugatti actually say that if the car is being left for more than a day or so, it should be connected to its charger conditioner. Now I would assume that they both use the highest quality Lithium batteries, with internal charging control electronics but they still recommend (or in Bugatti's case it is obligatory) use of an external charger.
