Bit of a grey area this. He wasn't using the touch screen to browse music or set a destination whilst driving but wanting to adjust his wipers which normally are done via.a stock. Tesla in their wisdom decided to remove stocks and bury it in the onboard computer/touch screen. I'm surprised that with all the EU laws out there that such basic controls are not mandated to be controls that can easily be adjusted without having to take your eye off the road.

As mentioned above, it's only a distraction if you allow it to be. wink I'm a big fan of tech in the car but also mindful of when it's safe to use/adjust said tech.

Mixed views on this. When using the gps and riding my bike, I always put the screen in the topbox and listen to voice commands by blue tooth to my helmet. Far less dustracting than looking at a screen and in any case I have been well trained into following directions from the passenger seat. Bit like they taught me in the Navy, with an aye aye maam and a repeat of the instruction. swmbo

That said I would expect any attempt to outlaw Tesla controls to come from Germany

I was tempted to have a full sized vinyl silhouette of an Austin A35 on the side of the AMG A35......

laugh2

When my Dad started working in the City back in about 1968, he bought a decrepit old A35 to use for his daily run to Ingatestone station, on the basis that he could leave it there every day without any danger of it being nicked.

A35's were good cars. Look at the racing exploits. The vans were excellent runabouts.

A mint one now with a Duratec would be a hoot. (715 kilos) scared

An Austin A35 van was one of James Hunt's favourite cars, I think mainly because he could drive it flat out without endangering his licence!

I snapped this racing saloon at Goodwood in 2016 ... there are clues to who owns it sherlock
