You may find that grip strength improves, my feet and hands were badly affected, and the constant tingling remains after 13 years. However grip strength has returned, only problem is 'feel', often can't sense if I have got a grip, and usually drop things, sometimes never to be found again !

Normally buy multiple quantity of items, allows for a few to be dropped

Thanks, yup been through the tingle phase (now gone) lack of feel (gone) and finger nails detaching (thank goodness gone) just my hands are as powerful as a child’s. I know it’s a small price to pay for the extra time the treatments have bought me but as someone who worked with their hands, even when I moved off the shop floor I never stopped working on cars, it’s so frustrating. I used to love being able to sit in the +4 and throw the hood over in rain and I regret selling it so much but back then I was convinced it was all over. ;-).

No biggy, it’s a wonderful problem to have given the alternative 😂😂

The Series 1 Roadster is better resolved. Early ones are much cheaper Road tax. Light steering. Good change on the Getrag box. Clutch is OK.

But you get the six leaf rear end carried over from the Plus 8, so rather harsh occasionally.

You might Also get Devol bushes and steering damper blades if it hasn't been updated, and bump steer from the angled track rods.

One tip I was given when we had our first Morgan with lift-the-dot hood fastenings - a teaspoon used round site towards the hood material makes removing the hood from the dots a lot easier - although I suspect from your posts that this is not the direction you struggle with most.

Thanks Dave, I rather like the revised geometry of the 2008 onwards cars. My 4 seat was the third car to be built in 08 and the difference to a friends identical car built in September 07 was very noticeable. Revised caster angle gave better self centre on the steering and the rack was much improved.

Don’t know how true it is (highly suspect knowing MMC change over practices) that the revised cars are best spotted by the thicker lower trailing lower arm plus it has an angle plated inner fixing (this was said by chassis shop on a visit) mind you I was also told no more cream faced clocks in 08, then that was changed to ‘unless you order a walnut dash’.

I know at least one 07 car that has the revised front end geometry as a friend owns it and I put new kingpins in it. Go figure.

Simmonds used to do a stud to easy fit conversion kit where, I think, the screen had a bOlt on frame atthe top to accept a matched fitting on the hood end. Shame they stopped and just do steering wheels now.

I understand that Steve is back doing hoods now.

Which was exactly what I was going to say, basically it is the header rail of his hood attached to the existing hood, I suspect it still won't be cheap though because a) Its Steve Simmonds b) I "think" a new windscreen frame is required.

Already been in touch but after waiting 4 years for the often promised QR steering wheel I gave up after asking if the hood rail kit was still available. I have seen the kit as I spent a day working in the workshop with Steve and doing some things for him. The OE frame is reversed, the studs removed and a black cover tape added then the clamps are fitted to the outer frame (not in that order) it would have been a good solution.

I am still not convinced the AWSC conversion can’t be ‘half fitted’ either as if the front few inches were added to the OE hood (extra seam is not a problem as it has enough anyway!) it could be hooked over the screen top first then the rear could be fixed on the OE lift the dots as the are easy to push on as no pulling required, then the John Taylor swivels could raise the frame.

Perhaps I am looking at it with a too simplistic view?

I have heard from the dealer, they are busy and can’t discuss the car at the moment but will contact me later!........

Even if it may be an older car, in this case not a Roadster, but a Plus 8, with a Simmonds roof, and if I was in the market, then perhaps the 1994 Plus 8 in the Sale and Wanted section would be interesting, if nothing speaks against it. It seems to be a very beloved and well maintained car at a fair price, as far as I can judge. Unfortunately not with aluminium wheels.
