I had hoped to meet up with a local "Vintage" car club for a countryside pootle in company of a few socially distancing aware folk yesterday, but as seems to be par for the course these days as part of my route involved the A82 at Balloch in a bid to make it over to Helensburgh, I met up with nose to tail traffic, given it was a nice weather day and folk were desperate to escape the city... fortunately was able to spin round the roundabout and head off back home, though had managed a few miles in the old +8 in the local countryside... Different story this morning, as we headed out much earlier though not my usual 05:00hrs jaunt, circa 08:00, and headed off into the Trossachs to meander round the lochs and glens, in times past I used to roar around these roads, the Dukes Pass being a favourite, but these days less so and with my good lady aboard a far more leisurely pace the order of the day..(-: Pic was taken on the road approaching Finnich Glen/Devils Pulpit with the hills of the Trossachs in the distance..

Pleased you found some interest in the pic John, Richard, seems I just can`t get round to advertising my Mog, I have had it longer than any other car and some of our best motoring adventures were enjoyed in it`s company.. Sure my enthusiasm for air cooled Porsches is very long standing given I have owned a few. As I have explained, the cold gets to me these days and I do like to get out in the Winter too for some mildly sporting driving, much as I have managed in years past in the Mog, though a tin top seemed to potentially extend that opportunity. Yeah I could put the side-screens on, and erect the hood but I REALLY do not enjoy driving my Morgan with all that gubbins around me and unfortunately the tonneau +heater seems not quite keep my extremities feeling as warm as it used to when there is frost about, blood thinners may play a part in that, so not the old Mogs fault..

The conundrum arises with my current mindset relative to my time in life, and that the idea of buying a second "toy" car does not sit well...adding Covid predictions to the mix does not help... But on the other hand I have seen it printed.. HE WHO DIES WITH THE MOST TOYS WINS...Hmm, worth considering perhaps.. juggle

Luddite .... there's a lot of electrically heated motorcycle wear out there that might help with your winter woes.

Just pulled this off the web as an example so don't take it as a personal recommendation of the seller.

I can seriously recommend Keis motorcycle kit - got me through many winters on the bike (used to commute daily on two wheels)

You can either wire it directly to the vehicle battery, or use a small portable battery that fits in your pocket .

I use the vest and gloves.

Met up with StevieMac this afternoon with his beautiful blue Roadster. Pictures taken at the Barley Mow, Clifton Hampden, Abingdon.
