Harry's Garage of the same car here. Murray is a bit full or himself but what a car. Cant see a fault in it. NA 12 cylinder engine, manual box, lots of aero, luggage space, passenger space and all in a sensibly sized package weighing 300kg less than a McLaren. Trouble is ££££££ and only 100 in the build run.. But they key for me is no useless tec in a light weight package. Wonder how real the production plan is. Will it ever happen or be another TVR? Yes that engine does look like it is going to be the little furry love spuds. Knowing him he will have it planned to the thirteenth degree. I think he comes over a little full but is it not the managed excitement of a deepest geek petrolhead? He has a good record

Personally I'd don't think he was at all 'up himself' - he's clearly very intelligent and articulate and knows thoroughly every minute element of the vehicle.. If you want up yourself, condescension and BS just try James Dyson: both him and the adverts for his products really get my goat with 'digital' electric motors (aren't they all?) and 'air-watts' of suction (yes they exist but this just blinding us with science we have to Google to understand). Turning to Murray's car for a moment - what a work of art and what a privilege for any individual to conceive and create something driven (no pun intended) by what he sees as the perfect driving machine. Eliminating all the things he doesn't like and sticking to his base principles of lightness, engineering purity comfort and even convenience (luggage space) must have been a very personal journey. I also liked the way he gave credit to his team and those supplying the engine and gearbox. It's Tuesday today so that mean Euro millions and that means wads of cash and that mean I can get one of the third that's not sold - now, where do I sign?

I like it when he said there was 30L of internal luggage space as if it was a massive feature...but anV12 revving to 11600 rpm, that must sound awesome

The car is an absolute belter, sadly only the Mr Beans of this world will be able to crash/drive them...

Great to see another go by Gordon after the TVR shambles. I believe that this one is a goer though as he has a lot of loyal early F1 owners who have profit banked from long term ownership. My only question would be around the long term testing of the engine, and maintenance regime required....as I have seen some eye watering bills for routine work on the early cars.

I dont see the "very modest" bit - the Harry's Garage video didnt show a modest man but an ego. That said the man is right in so many design areas that he is another Chapman. Did you note his gearbox comments about DCT trans,issions and not feeling that you have changed gear with them. Its exactly the point I tried to make when we were talking about the auto box on the Plus Four. The Jonh Berbard automated manual, as I had in the 430, is an excellent compromise giving both flappy paddles and an auto facility together with perceprtible gear changes and a sensible number of gears. He has gone for the ultimate drivers car rather than followed the silly bhp race. Good on him.
