I know, they know nothing bout Morgans, but they are really not very impressed about the driving skills of the new car. Engine, brakes etc are ok but what should make the big difference to a trad, the chassis, they vote it not much better than on trads.
Don ´t really believe this and I am curious to have a test drive.

From personal experience the chassis of the new car is streets ahead of any trad. I don't think they can have driven a trad recently.

I was really impressed with the handling , ride and roadholding of the new car. OK I only tested it on UK roads and not on a test track or a motor industry proving ground, but nevertheless I would have expected any poor areas to have shown up.

The best way is to test drive it yourself , the only real question is do you test the auto or manual version, better still test both and do a comparison.

Perspective is a funny thing.

They test a lot of cars and rate the car as a whole in the market. So if they compare the price and market position it may have some gaps. The question is do they have a tick box with (as existing owners) our perspective. Perhaps a box that demands a score for "enjoyment, event, tradition and not looking like the car equivalent of a nike onesie" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onesie_(jumpsuit) for those that do not speak English slang) would balance the score?

I drove one from the factory a couple of weeks ago, it is streets ahead of a trad, and a good step on from the Aero, not world beating but very competent.

I think MMC should be pleased with the cars Autocar compared it with, even if it came last, as I'd expect it to.
It is also interesting to compare the PlusFour with the old Roadster test in the same magazine.

Bunch of Germans - what do they know. We even have to build their F1 cars for them! englandwave

P.S. Could be something to do with German roads not having potholes in them? Decent roads dont test a chassis. In fact isnt it the case that some cars are sent over to the UK during development to test them on apalling road surfaces?

P.P.S. They might be mentally comparing it with an Elise hide

Howard, the days when our streets were good are long gone. But testing is still done by all the manufacturers on the Ring.
