Instead of a full-on DIN radio install with antenna and two speakers I am willing to go the bluetooth speaker route. I am looking for one fitting under the heater box of my 1999 4/4, 50W min. Did anyone on here do this before and/or has an idea which was to go?

I’ve recently fitted a Bluetooth speaker to my M3W and am very pleased with it. It’s fully waterproof and chargeable from the car if you need to. With my installation it’s easily removable and is tucked away out of site. I have to admit though, it doesn’t get switched on when I’m driving - wind noise, engine ‘music’ and wearing a helmet doesn’t aid listening to it. But if you’re parked up for a bit it’s great to have radio or music channels available.

If you have speakers built in to the car, a Bluetooth transmitter is an alternative option. For example:

I remember somebody here presented a nice installation of Bose SoundLink Mini II instead a radio into the DIN-frame over the Gearbox tunnel.

I fitted a Bluetooth receiver in place of the radio but found I couldn't hear anything when we got going due to wind noise, I searched for an amplified receiver but they tend to be bulky and expensive (more than a Yorkshireman wants to pay anyway), I eventually found one on Amazon and fitted it under the dash with double sided tape, it's quite small and I can now hear sat nav instructions over the wind noise, I have to turn it down when I go through a town as it startles pedestrians.

Search for tpa3116d2 amplifier board on Amazon, there are 3 variants one goes to 100W, I went for for the 50W middle option.

Regards
Mark

Today I tested my Bose BT noise cancelling ear plugs.
That is really good in the Morgan.

Did not expect that as they have very loud wind noise when riding a bike in the city...
