I have had my pump kit sitting here for over a month and it will wait until I get weird fuel symptoms or it just dies.

I would fit the new pump or you will regret it like me, unless you like riding in tow truck cabs

I suppose you are correct. Tow truck cabs are not the nicest places.

Mine gave less than a minute of warning before failing.

Great idea. I made the mistake of doing it in my garage on a 90 degree humid day. I lost a couple of pounds of sweat. Mixed with the gasoline fumes, it was not pleasant.
BTW, have not been in Leesburg in 30 years. I grew up just south of Richmond and spent years in Charlottesville. Great roads for you current Virginians.

You would be surprised JoeJoe as Leesburg is no longer a sleepy town in the middle of no where all done in the last 30 years. The old historic town still has its charm but now full of great breweries and restaurants. The rest of Leesburg is all grown up. If you swing by happy to take a trip with our Morgans as there are not many around these parts.

Well, at least the possibility of a trip from Chicago to Virginia exists, since I no longer have the original fuel pump!

I was looking through the "how to" on changing the pump and I find a reference to the walbro rubber foot #22-63... however, I cannot find that part anywhere????

It is supplied by Glencoe in the UK https://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/in-tank-fuel-pump-rubber-foot-walbro/. I would think there is probably something very similar available in the US, Summit maybe? This item requires some modification and you may even be able to adapt the one fitted to the original pump, it's not a critical part, just a rubber spacer.

I did check Summit and they do not have it. I will just adapt the one that comes with the pump.
