If we spent 10% of what brands invest in R&D to make cars safer and put into driver education and monitoring the world would be a safer place and a better place. No need for all those gizmos and gadgets that have short shelf life and pollute the world. drill and discipline would go a long way. No matter how many nannies you put the driver is the one that "fucks up". What's next ? Ban human driving ?
Everytime I start the 3 wheeler I cannot stop wondering how on earth in 2020 is it still possible to buy this thing new. We have self driving cars, airbags and so many nannies - Yet the 3 wheeler remains. Sadly I am sure this is only because the bureaucratic mammoth that governs our world hasn't reached that cove yet.
I'm glad I pulled the trigger - Hell knows how much longer those little death traps of awesomeness will be allowed to be produced.

I beg to differ. No matter how well you educate the drivers, there will be moments of stupidity, carelessnes, bad luck, unexpected road conditions, drunk driving, mechanical failures, somebody else loosing controls coming towards you etc. etc. There is a fair amount of historical evidence to proove that relying on drill and discipline alone is bound to produce mishaps. To err is human, so there is a good reason to add safety devices and warning systems to a good driver education. Where I live, in spite of increased traffic the number of deaths and severe injuries are mostly the same over the last years, or going slightly down. In my view, the reason is multifactorial: better driving education AND better roads AND satefy devices. There is no point in discarding any of these factors. Of course safety devices should have a proven (if possible) efect, good shelf life, and pollution from production should be a minimum, but that is a challenge for the manufacturer. And there is a balance between personal freedom and what could be potentially dangerous for yourself, people around you and finally the society as such. So some things are mandatory, as a motorcycle helmet, safety belt and a 3rd stopping light. Anybody objecting to that? Some are useful or even recommended, as ABS, reversing camera, parking sensors or the like. Why discard that? And the liittle buzzer reminding you of the safety belt is actually a good idea. I might forget someday. I am human.

Well you made my point - I'm saying that the environment and social cost of adding a computer to every car is debilitating cost to us as a specie and for our planet while education alone doesn't. I agreed with everything you've said but there's a hidden cost to everything.
The Morgan 3 wheeler will be a casualty of that and I for one will be sad to see it go.
As you rightly said we are humans and therefor imperfect - no amount of tech will ever change that.
I'm terribly sorry if I sound very gloomy my Morgan brethren from the far north.

I've just read that they (allegedly) only have 20 tractor engines left for production, which is what I'm guessing our French colleague is alluding to..
The source is an FB Morgan Group so treat with caution I would say and await an official announcement.

When does Euro5 come in for motorcycles/tricycles in Europe? That might answer one or two questions?
