Has anyone noticed the rubber seal which MMC have put on the top of the windscreen pillar on thenew Plus Four. I think it may be actually fixed to the roof mechanism , but it seems to eliminate the rain getting in under the roof at the top of the pillar. Is this rubber "seal" a seperate part and is is retrofittable to the Trad roofs? Can it be obtained from the factory or does anyone know what it comes from and is it known who the manufacturer of the part is?
Cheers!

Is this what you mean Robbie? They were fitted in 2016, maybe earlier, presumably up to the end of Trad producton. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5970.jpg)

No Dave - I mean the rubber block on the new Plus Four. I have asked one of the dealers to enquire from the factory if they are compatible with the previous hoods- I have a 2018 Plus4 - I await their reply. Cheers!

I'm surprised that Dave did not mention his "Neoprene on top of the windscreen pillar" idea.
I have been using it for years and it works a treat.

I find that the neoprene solution which I also use tends to shred after a while needing constant replacement - I'd like a more longer-lasting solution! Cheers!

I cut and fitted a piece of closed cell packaging foam, to the top of the A post. The dark grey foam (approx 8mm thick) came from the packaging surrounding a camera. It works well and has proven to be a long term solution. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

I have yet to replace mine after at least 6 years and probably about 50,000 km of use. What I used was probably not the brand "Neoprene" but was a similar product that I bought as a roll of self adhesive tape to lag outside exposed pipes to protect them from freezing. Typically that would be a length of pipe to a garden tap. Having written that I went out to check and one side, while still functional, is showing signs of splitting away from the adhesive so I will probably replace them both the next time I do some work on the car. However 5 to 6 years of life for a tiny patch of synthetic rubber doesn't seem bad to me.
