Quite right Rob, although some are proving to be more predictable than oncoming drivers confused2

This morning I crashed backwards into my LR with my Morgan.

The Landy is a working car with 20 years on the clock and is dusty and untidy all the time. The car for trips to the fields with the dog. Usually parked in a car-port.
Yesterday they announced rain so I had the plan to get it a natural wash and left the LR behind my Mog-garage.
During nighttime we had a thunderstorm with some hail and the car got the expected shower.
In the morning I reversed the Mog out of the garage but had forgotten the LR. Did not check the rear mirror and after 5meters the 4\4 got stopped. No Problems with the old LR, but the rear of the Moggy suffered a bent bumper and a dent on the rearside.
All my mistake. Never wash a working car!

I have some tools, including a sledge hammer. I dismounted the whole luggage rack and bumper and tried to straighten everything. The sledge hammer did the trick, after I had tried several other things before. The yellow lines show, how badly things were bent before.

Sorry to read this Hannes, we have all done similar things it's only human but so annoying when you only have yourself to blame I know.
Little consolation I know but at least we are heading out of the good weather period now.

Argh, the most annoying of minor accidents, when you own both cars. I did exactly the same thing many years ago, I misjudged a turn and nudged my series 2 Land Rover into the front wing of my MGB. Very irritating. The only positive is that you don't have to deal with insurance companies!

I'll keep the small dent, but will paint it.
That should remind me to use a back mirror, even on own ground when everyone else is still in bed on a Sunday morning.

My repair works are acceptable, at least for myself. (see attached pic in the original posting)

This is very annoying, Hannes, I am sorry about it, but now you have solved it well, I think...and you have established a new permanent early warning system. It happened to me when I opened the doors of my box in the underground garage, got into the Morgan and backed out the first meter without looking in the mirror. Unfortunately in the meantime one of the two door wings had closed again by itself...which it never does usually. So I had crushed the right rear fender. That was soo super annoying! The fender was swaged, but I could pull it out again by pressing on the side of the compressed wing. You can't see anything of it anymore. But it is still an effective memory for me to look into the mirror.

Today we drove back from Matrei to Cologne. Rain from the beginning. Then from Rosenheim to just before Frankfurt we had a lot of torrential rain so it was less fun to drive the Morgan. But.....not one! Drop of water came into the cabin. A sponge to free the windscreen and from time to time the heated windshield switched on, it worked very well.

Behind the border in Bavaria free Covid19 tests are offered until the end of the school vacations. We have done this, even if there is no acute suspicion. Austria has the lowest rates of many countries. On the other hand, we could have had some encounters at home in six months before, for example in the supermarket.
I was frankly very surprised how little! these tests were used by people today. There was only one car in front of us. It took us 10 minutes to register online via mobile and take the test by sitting in the car. Within two days we will get the result via email.
Across this border people come from all kinds of countries that represent high risk groups, e.g. Kosovo, Croatia etc. But hardly anybody was interested in what was or is going on with him.
