Monthly payment on a basic spec car is attractive but the majority of buyers will add options and its these that can very easily double or triple the advertised PCP monthly payment or in my case on a Plus Six earlier this year quadruple. (Covid cancelled that little pipe dream!) General rule of thumb is there isn't any residual value given on options, certainly not 70%.

So the rule is if it’s PCP it’s a basic car. I guess it could be cheaper having a zero option plus 6 than a well spaced plus four

What happened to me in this and in other videos and what I really like is that it still looks "morganlike" how the car moves over the bumps of the B-road. It is the seemingly still relatively short suspension travel that makes it look "original".
Maybe this has already been answered, is the new steering geometry the one of an Ackermann steering system as we find it everywhere today? Or do the steering wheels still move parallel?

No it is modern suspension.

The extras being added to the full loss part of a PCP is normal industry standard and usually dictated by the finance company process.

The way Morgan offer extras would seem to be unhelpful to the PCP process. From recent experience Mercedes and BMW offer few extras, rather they are bundled into packages, which then becomes part of the car product description on the V5A. For example "Premium Plus Package) and "Shadow Package". Perhaps MMC needs to look at the way others do this; perhaps a Sport Touring Package, which includes a range of no cost options.

Now there’s a good prediction to watch out for

Mini offer the same with their more inventive Pepper and Chili pack's. Chili being hotter so = Pepper + another six options.

Possibly not so helpful to Morgan's sluggish production line but a saving in time, administration and therefore cost nevertheless. The present cost of individual options could then be better justified.

I guess Morgan would be worried it would have to give a discount on a bundle of options...but I guess at £650 to have you wheels black there is some Rome for movement

Nice test I thought she really put her finger on the attraction of a Morgan; that combination of the charm and elegance of a classic, with the practicality and ability of a modern car.

FWIW I financed my Morgan as my company car on a lease deal with an option to buy the car at the end, what in France is called an LOA (location avec option d'achat). It worked out really well, particularly as at the time Morgan France offered 4 years guarantee and servicing included in the price of a new Mog, so in 5 years, my total running costs were one service and a set of Vredsteins which I fitted because the OE tyres scared the bejaysus out of me. I bought the car for €43500, and sold it for €40000 at the end of 5 years, less €5000 commission to Morgan France who sold it for me (they shifted it in a week, and I couldn't be doing with the hassle, so net sale price €35000). So all in all, some of the cheapest motoring I've ever enjoyed with a new car.

My real motivation in financing it in the way was that the monthly payments are seen on the balance sheet as en expense rather than the financing of a depreciating asset. The only mistake I made was that I set the final payment too low (IIRC 5% of the purchase price) This meant that when I sold the car at the end of 5 years, I got hit with corporation tax on the €35K, as it produced an exceptional item of extra profit in that year's accounts.
