There was some damage to Bottas car that they were repairing during the red flag. It could be that there was damage they couldn't fix at the time. I have not heard.
They did should a comparison of qualifying laps last week. Bottas made a few little mistakes, each costing a bit of time. Lewis was very steady and it showed in his time. If that is the case lap to lap it is easy to see why Lewis out shines him. If Bottas was in another car would he be near the front? I'm thinking no.
It seems to me the difference of a half second per lap is the blink of an eye at those speeds. Even a second per lap. Lap after lap it adds up. Everyone is fast, but some are just a bit faster.

The thing that really came home to me was what an outstanding and natural racer Lewis is whereas Bottas really struggled in similar equipment and ended up 2 places ahead of Lewis after his 10 Sec stop go penalty was served, quite why he was moaning about overheating in traffic and Lewis wasn't remains a mystery too. Playing devils advocate I would like to see Seb in the other Mercedes seat and I suspect Lewis would welcome the extra competition . Could it be the tune of Bottas’ car is systematically different? I find it amazing that there is systematically this difference, is it only th driver, I wonder. I do not want to diminish anything from Lewis’ extraordinary skills. I am thinking same in team Redbull where Max systematically outshines his team mate (i.e. when Max finishes...) I can but agree with you, we have seen similar with Charles outshining Sebastian in all arears too I would have thought logically that they would share set up's suspension and engine tune wise but maybe this is not the case. Seeing Max in the Bottas car would be very interesting to see I think.

Interesting, so he will get a Mercedes drive albeit a Pink one It could prove a very interesting move, I feel sorry for Perez though.

My thoughts are similar about Perez and of course Stroll and his Dad are the vital cheque book so he had to stay.

It would be nice if they retained the pink as it makes it really easy to identify who is shunting/passing/falling off the track at a glance. Perhaps they could get Thomas Pink Shirts to sponsor them and cement it in place!
I had not heard about those changes, I will have to catch up again. Thanks for the heads up.
I heard Alonso had a bad time in Indy 500 recently and is looking to get back in. I wonder where he will be whinging up next. I doubt it will be a Honda team!

Feels like part of a larger plan !!
Use engines. Use Electronics and display engineering. Parachute in big boss. Buy F1 team.
Next they will be annexing the car park (meant in jest with due respect).
