Hi sospan when I had my TVR I had a mate make a stick on number plate which I put on the bonnet so I could remove the one covering 30% of the intake that worked a treat but that isn’t an option with Morgan’s as you know so your plan sounds like a good one I’d be interested in the end result , the aluminium rad and larger fan in mine have made a huge difference especially in slow traffic

To be honest, I don't bother with testing and the like. 50%water/glycol mix, change every 2 years. Thought about Evans, but since fitting an aluminium rad, I have had no overheating issues. And you might not to have to change it for umpteen years, in theory, but there is always something crops up.....

As someone with a vested interest in aluminium radiators (over a hundred manufactured and sold already this year) in a plus 8 use a 50/50 mix of blue glycol antifreeze and water. It’s what the engine was designed to run A caveat however- if the engine has been filled with an OAT ( red, green, yellow, whatever) antifreeze, then run like for like. Mixing antifreezes causes the coolant to gel or crystallise and then you’re in a world of hurt
As to Evans Waterless- I wouldn’t... it’s got poorer heat capacity/rejection than a traditional antifreeze/water blend, and it doesn’t boil because it has a very high boiling point, but that doesn’t mean your engine can’t overheat badly

Can recommend one of these inexpensive Refractometers. Once calibrated with pure water they will measure a sample droplet against a scale of freezing point or SG of battery electrolyte to give charge condition. Most useful I find to see what frost protection you have from coolant. Yes, I've got one of these and jolly handy it is too. I use 50/50 blue glycol and water in my Mulfab ally radiator, it works fine, gives sufficient frost protection for my needs and I change it every few years. TBH I can't see the point of having anything fancy in there, it's all very well for the owners of cars which cover high mileages or which need to minimise their servicing costs but neither of those are relevant to me.
