Dashboard re-purposing
I had been wondering what to do with the leather-clad dashboard that Dad removed from his 1982 Plus 8 and decided to insert photographs of the three Morgans that he ran and use it as a picture frame.
The orange 1971 4/4 (PCP 527K) was purchased from a private seller in Bradford in 1974: the red 1982 4/4 (PFR 745X) was purchased from Mike Duncan in 1982 and the Ivory +8 (RMW 719Y) was purchased from Lifes in1988 and sold to the States in 2005 I think. Just in case any one on this forum knows these cars I do have a few purchase and maintenance notes that Dad kept in his records.
In all my parents covered more than 80,000 very happy miles in their Morgans and I thought that the frame was a suitable way to remember these.

![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/09/16/Mum-in-Mog-01.jpg) Thanks John. I should have said earlier that, whilst Dad died in 2011, my mother is still very much alive and has just passed her 99th birthday. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she can celebrate the next one with a trip out in my Morgan. The attached photo is of us embarking on a short trip to Watershed Down on an icy cold December day in 2017 and she couldn't wait to get out in it.

That's a great idea Rob, full marks for ingenuity I hope one of my lads can take me out in a Morgan when I'm 99 ( assuming I've stopped driving myself that is)

Thanks Gordon. I must admit that Morgan ownership kept my parents going until their 80s when Dad lost his confidence. They never went anywhere with the top on - unless its was really stormy - and my mother would not get into one now if it was up. She doesn't enjoy air-conditioned tin tops at all and the thought that she can still ride in one still inspires her. Perhaps they should be available on the National Health?!
