Thanks for posting Kevin. If that is the Monsal Dale viaduct I have a photo from the same spot taken in the mid-1940s by my parents on a motorbike excursion from Sheffield showing the landscape either side of the track completely bare of tree growth and the dense vegetation now seen. The danger of fire from steam locomotives ensured that all line side vegetation was kept to a minimum within the railway land boundary. The route makes a great walk now though.

Didn’t see it, maybe that was in 1947. But did get some banging crab sandwiches on the Marina

Yes many thanks to Gary (Hawki) for organising the lunchtime meet at the Swan in Clare, followed by riverside walk with three pooches.

Note two Brooklands Roadsters. Definitely a Mog day. We were joined by a sixth one at the pub and a further five seen singly at various points on the journey home.

Pickering to Whitby across the moors is a fantastic drive. The view out to sea from the moors nearing Whitby well worth a photo!

When Jeremy Clarkson was in Whitby filming The Grand Tour, he said: "That road from Pickering over the moors and past RAF Fylingdales is epic, it really is one of the best drives in the country."

OK, not from a drive today but RobCol's post prompted me to add this photo of my parents Mog taken in the mid 1970s. I haven't visited the North York Moors for a while but I believe that the radomes at RAF Fylingdales were removed some time ago. Whilst they weren't universally liked they certainly added a rather forbidding character to that part of the drive across the moors.

I like the AA badge. Very seventies.
