Thanks for the tips. Looking at doing my 4/4 1800 Duarte’s too, as the heat has melted the brake reservoir a bit. I saw on one picture here on TM that the new Plus 4 has a exhaust blanket at the point it passes through the engine bay wall. Is that standard fit now? Many thanks Gaz

I posted an earlier comment to the effect that I had not noticed any corrosion beyond what I considered normal. However I have since needed to replace the manifold due to corrosion around the bottom section weld .so its a no no beyond the stainless upper pipes of the manifold which had not corroded at all. This by the way was a 2008 4/4 with 72,000 on the clock.

Don’t know to much about this but when I was looking at reducing temperature in the engine bay wrapping was an option and ceramic coating was another , + and - corrosion with wrapping, cost with coating but looks good . I picked up a second hand sport manifold for my black top zetec 1.8L and has it Zircoteced (ceramic coating) and very pleased with the result. Looks good and works well. But as you say not cheap.
