My recently retired neighbour, a doctor, told me by phone today that he has a cough and sniffles but not a temperature so probably flu. I sincerely hope his self diagnosis is right.

"How did you get that" I enquired. He seemed surprised at my question. "Not sure" he replied saying that although he went to a newsagent, an Indian grocers and Morrisons (I suspect there were others) he had been wearing a mask.

In February he had warned me of the impending pandemic and that he and I probably wouldn't survive cos of underlying. I reminded him of this conversation and told him to put his tin helmet back on.......now!
