Or Graham I engage Jannav who gives a running commentary not only on the weather but lots more helpful advice. Especially as in Belle there is large speedo dial right in front of her.

I would use John's solution but I suspect SWMBO would prefer Graham's more practical Idea.
However she asks me what the temperature is outside the car and gets very annoyed when I say "turn the heater off and you will soon find out"

Or Graham I engage Jannav who gives a running commentary not only on the weather but lots more helpful advice. Especially as in Belle there is large speedo dial right in front of her. Assuming you have fitted a GPS or other speedo where you can see it, you could always fit a blanking sheet to the speedo - claiming that its large size is causing distracting reflections on the windscreen.

There is one temperature sensor that always seems to be at freezing.  ‘s feet. Whatever the weather there is never a comment about warm feet. As for an ECU....it does use incoming air temperature as a parameter. My Gems does. It uses a sensor just after the filter box. Hence cold air intakes to improve performance as it manages map choices. The one shown is unlikely to be for ecu data as it doesn’t show actual IAT (incoming air temp).
