Any after market indicator warning buzzer with high impedance trigger, which I assume most are, should be fine with the BCU. Only issue would be need for diodes in left and right feeds to keep indicators electrically independent.

FWIW have the same issue but have disciplined myself to cancel them - usually blush. Noting the neutral angle of the indicator stalk helps.

Richard, IIRC the Audicator had separate L/R connections to indicators & live trigger from brake switch and neg earth, I'll try and find my old wiring diagram

Indicator Buzzer

Got one of these,

Wire to each indicator bulb, +ve and -ve, and then one that connects to the brake light circuit.

Adjustable delay to the buzzer, and using the brake silences it.

It sounds like the device you describe would be fine with a 3.7 Roadster Jon. The diode isolation I mentioned appears built-in given the individual trigger connections for left and right. If these and the brake light kill trigger are taken directly from the lamp feeds they would be after the BCU. This and the braking kill function suggest a logic driven device so no extra loading on the lamp circuits either.

Sounds awfully complex now with these ECU cars, but by chance I went for a good long test in a Mulsanne Speed 6.75 this week out to a vineyard and back , it had the most agreeable indicator noise that I have ever heard -reminiscent of a grandfather clock - not suitable for an open Mog though and you would expect special for almost the price of two McLarens out here!

Hi John,

I've fitted the Audicator to my 3.7 Roadster with no problems at all - and it works a treat.

I bought a cheap motorcycle buzzer and fitted it into the rear indicator light circuit, works a treat I can hear up to about 60 mph.

Keith,
I would be interested in a 3.7l owner who did that. The electrics I believe in terms of BCU etc are different.
How did you fit the buzzer to both sides? Was it via a common earth off the indicators?
John

Very interesting & thanks Sid

Did you have to trace the connections all the way to the lights & use the original bullet points. or find something closer in the fuse box ??
