I had an interesting 'conversation; with a one of the regulars in the pub last night (suitably socially distanced - there were only 6 of us in there and he was about 4 metres away). He was trying to convince me that he did 'specialist ' work with Glaxo-Kline and AstraZeneca. He said he was going to refuse any vaccine because it contained microchips and he wasn't going to allow him or his children to be tracked by the Government. He also said that future overseas travel would be only permitted for those who had been vaccinated. I did try and put forward some alternative views but it was falling on deaf ears Ah - the pub: the beating heart of all conspiracy theories. Sounds much more stressful than school though!!

I've had a few chats with him in the past (before lockdown) and he always has some interestng theories. I was ear wigging on a conversation he was having with his mate (some form of Army/forces) and he was comig up with some equally bizarre stuff about recent conflicts

TBM, you are not going to get any better right now and at least this one is using the right engineering. It will use a little battery even when not on screen(they call it background mode) as it "bleats" a small code which all the others can catch up and note. Not significant in reality unless you were to spend a lot of time in a supermarket where they are all bleating and listening. Even then quite low. My impression so far is that it seems design-by-committee but capable. Why open the app and then have to press a button to go into QR scan mode when that is the 99.9% use it will get. You should just open the app and it goes directly to scan with a small menu bar for the other stuff on the bottom. Waste of time and typical lazy UX. I am using it now. If you want to register your location so that people can swipe in/out then simply go here - https://www.gov.uk/create-coronavirus-qr-posterWe have it for our office so that the posties/staff and a very few visitors can locate.

TBM, you are not going to get any better right now and at least this one is using the right engineering.. Fingers crossed. I know nothing about the tech/engineerig, but the first NHSX app failed and was scrapped after 5 weeks, so you can understand my hesitance. If it works as it should, I'll use it.

Yes the previous App was pants, I remarked on this at the time. Ignoring the engineering provided by the iOS and Android platform was just plain daft.

I could have listened to his outlandish tales all day given a chance 😂😂😂

As I wrote earlier, and I'm with TBM on this, I'll be waiting for the glitches to be ironed out first before downloading it. I'm a few days away from downloading IOS 14 yet. The esteemed Times newspaper reports up to a third of people told to isolate will be incorrect. If you ask for a test outside of the app you cannot update the app to show a negative result and it goes into the self isolate countdown. https://news.yahoo.com/nhs-covid-19-app-users-094538919.htmlhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-54296410

If only the Earth was flat....the virus then couldn’t get aROUND. Oh! Wait a minute......someone of facebook said it was flat so they could do what they liked. The next Darwin Awards should be interesting. My town, Llanelli, is in lockdown from 18.00 today. 8/10 cases in the County are linked to porr social distancing in pubs. I posted the other day about a local Darwin candidate saying to mates in the pub that he just tested positive but had no symptoms so the test was wrong. I think he must have been on another planet for the last 6 months or just stupid. BEWARE! They are among us The local council are taking action against some venues for non compliance. In nearby Swansea a wedding “do” was broken up by either police or Council Covid checkers. 30+ in the venue. They were sent home and the venue closed. Small numbers of idiots causing huge numbers to be affected. A symptom of today’s attitudes/entitlement/I am not included in the rules/ don’t give a ****. I have the App and will use it. It adds a little more cumulative effect to helping to limit spread.

It's a bit like a "new" model of Morgan I'll let the early adopters finalise the road testing before adopting one myself
