It's a bit like a "new" model of Morgan I'll let the early adopters finalise the road testing before adopting one myself  A fault in a new Morgan doesn't mean you could be forced to stay at home for 2 weeks.... Well, it might be longer.....

We have downloaded it. Time will tell but we also report on the COVD symptom study app.

This is not meant as a preach but an observation - The App - Does anyone have anything better? Does it add to the chance of reducing pain in peoples live through the death of fsmily.
I would be a lot more worried about the Track & Trace program. They have already been reported for one breach and failed to report a second.Anything done so quickly will undoubtedly have challenges but I have more worries there.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I hear what you are saying but with his poor decision making over the Dominic Cummings "away day" amongst many other things he has single handedly destroyed all confidence in all things that emanate from his office or environs with his bumbling.
That combined with the governments abysmal track record of buying in totally crap IT systems is why I shall be waiting until this is a proven quantity.
The latest poll tells us that Starmer and him are 50/50 and he (Starmer) has done nothing but stand up in the Commons such is Doris's demise from the vast majority he sailed in on.

The App won't work with IOS 12......so forget it on older iPhones anyway.
Shame as I would have liked to use it but I'm not buying a new phone just for that.
Still on iPhone 6 - it ain't broke so keep using it - does what I need it to do apart from the NHS app it seems.

There are two aspects to iPhones
The version of the software and which hardware you have. Apple releases an iPhone iteration each year. It also releases a major software update each year (and sadly these days quite a few minor ones). From it's first date of release each handset will get new versions up until it is considered that the new software will swamp the older phone due to the new software features needing more RAM or CPU in many cases. At this point it will stop on the last version it supported.
Apple has a reasonable history on this as mentioned further up. iOS14 is able to be used on something as far back as the 6s which was launched in September 2015. In the real world that is only five years. In the tech/handset/fashion world it is quite a good run.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Comment from a pal in in IT security - the app is based around game technology, with its point scoring. Should be very easy to shut companies down for two weeks at a time. I took a look at it and wasn't happy with a number of aspects so removed it again. QR code reader wouldn't work on my phone - the camera doesn't work!

I am currently sat on my bed in a hotel room with my phone on the bedside cabinet. Less than 0.5m through the wall it sounds like someone else is doing the same. In the event that they are diagnosed with having the virus at some time in the next couple of days, will my phone register me as having spent the whole night less than 0.5m apart and require me to self isolate or will the blue tooth signal not penetrate through a hotel wall ?
