I clearly did not get the memo about socially distanced parking, but then we need to protect the things we love? The problem was to keep me far from the grill

After charging the battery.... Again... I used the car last Thursday, but failed to start after 5 days. Anyway.... I drove my machine to Tesco's local emporium for essential comestibles. It was possible to park socially distanced, indeed the nearest car was 10m away.
So why, in a virtually empty car park did someone have to park next to me? I'm beginning that the inability to keep 2m plus away from anyone is a fundamental "human lemming" instinct....they just want to die together. All very strange.

The answer is: "Let's park next to that car. It's a nice car. He will pay attention when he opens the door. He will not slam it on ours".

We call it the herding instinct that humans have.

Had this myself. Local shopping centre. Parked on top floor of multistory car park, only car up there. Returned to find some old Vauxhall parked right next to me - why?

You have to remember that knuckle dragging hurts so they need to park close to lessen the pain.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I discussed this with an anthropologist many moons ago - their hypothesis was that humans are intrinsically pack animals and they have a natural desire and compulsion to near others. Goes back to the old 'strength in numbers' instinct. In the same vein he also put forward a suggestion for why, in a couple, the man will often sleep in the side of the bed nearest the door. Completely subconcious, but harks back to cave living and having your family behind you so you can protect them. Could all be tosh though

Most men in the Morgan age group sleep next to the door so its easy to go for a pee in the middle of the night......
