In case anyone is interested, Whilst the UK has reflective plates, most of the world do not, including some of our European neighbours. I can find only Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand that have reflective plates similar to the UK. Not sure about France where HGVs can have reflective plates, some States of the USA and some of Western Austraila.

Do our German, Norwegian, and Italian Mog forum members have reflective number plates? If not does this mean Europe and the rest of the world aren't safe places for our Mogs? Asking for a friend doh

Im a naughty boy. I have them fitted on my black 96 car.
No doubt I will get caught one day. I have the proper ones in the car, just in case.

I need to check in the garage as I have Dutch, Kenyan and German plates of vehicles I have owned. I think they all are reflective.

Has anyone been prosecuted to using black and silver plates on a vehicle not old enough to qualify on the forum?

I see the black and silver plates as a badge of honour - awarded for putting up with all the unique challenges you face as a classic car owner.

If ANPR cameras don’t register non standard plates then stick on the wing might not work either? I have seen reflective stick ons.
My cars are registered on a season ticket for a local country park. ANPR operates the barriers. Might be a problem if I swop the Morgan. Would ANPR monitored carparks be the same?

Robcoll.....I just noticed you have wing stick ons. Any problems?

My Avatar is the previous owners plate but I do have a non reflective wing plate. I have to admit to being a fair weather Morgan driver who doesn't leave my car parked in supermarket carparks (or anywhere at night). If I could find a ANPR car park however I might be tempted to try the ANPR camera as an exercise.

I think the solution in your case would be to carry a reflective plate in the car for car park use. Or possibly as a plan B if your plates aren't legal and you ever get your collar felt

Guilty as charged, although the kind Police officer (plain clothes on a bike, so sneaky) reported the plates the kind Judge was more concerned with the speed and only fined me for that. innocent That was the only occasion in six years and 25,000 miles.

I can understand what others say about the plates in poor light but with LED lights they make a huge difference I think.

Got stuck in a couple of car parks over the years with auto barriers, one I actually managed to get under smile and never got charged for a certain Thames crossing either.
