Yes & if it is your bank I would recommend logging on & sending a secure message. Or calling.

I`ve had a couple of these from TV & DVLA - but most official documents don`t start with "Hi......"! Also they often have misspellings.

Had a couple of emails recently purporting to be from my ISP informing me my email was in danger of being suspended and requesting I enter email address and password.... A follow-up from a different address claiming that my email account was suspended and that mails were waiting delivery.... I guess it can be all too easy to get caught out on a busy day...fortunately I was not.... this time, next time...????

I had HMRC again last week. I let them have it with both barrels.

I get regular ones claiming to be about my TV licence account being overdrawn and about to be suspended. Given that I don’t have a TV licence account and never have (it’s always been in my wife’s name and in later years her email account) I ignore it. If it’s real they would write I always figure.

I’ve had emails from HMCTS stating that I have an outstanding motoring fixed penalty notice for somewhere in the U.K.?? When I hovered over the sender it originates from Brazil of all places, but the email itself looked so convincing. These a*******s who send out this spam must get some unsuspecting person to pay up?

I have just had a VERY convincing text from BT telling me that my direct debit had failed and to click on a link to update my details. Only problem is I gave up BT 8 months ago. I rang BT. they confirmed it was nothing to do with them. I gave them all the detail sof link and the mobile number attached to message. This scamming b******ds should be humg drawn and quartered..

Someone somewhere is responding and making gate scam worthwhile. In days gone by, danger come from a source that we could see, hear, smell and touch. We could defend ourselves based on what our senses told us. Today with the dominance of the Www in our lives none of our natural senses are useful in defending ourselves, only our intelligence and extended teamwork is now useful in fending off attack.
