This is my opinion and that of many others living in Australia.
We are ex-pats and care deeply about what is happening in the UK and to its people:

I totally agree with that man and his opinion.
In the USA the national guard would be called out and issued with live ammunition.
Loots are shot on sight.
That's the only way to deal with mob rule.
Police numbers are probably adequate for normal everyday policing, but when mob rule and disorder brakes out additional measures are needed.

The British army is away fighting so called terrorists actions whilst the police are outnumbered 10:1 on the streets.
Bring the absent Army home, declare Martial rule, night-time curfew and any loots shot on sight.

England has to be made safe for everyday folk and if Margaret Thatcher was still in control, these measures would have been put in place sooner than later....

Our welfare system does not cut you off completely if a breach of conditions is committed, and that is the difference between our system and that in England. Support must be offered no matter what, and the family standards upheld.

Cutting a family off with no avenue of support is only asking for trouble, they have to seal, rob, bash and generally commit serious crimes to even eat every day.

The police, as here, should carry arms 24 hrs a day, the crims and drug dealers do and you have to meet force with force and we do in Australia.
No self respecting police man here would ever go on duty, not adequately armed for duty.....

The world has changed and England has to change to, opinions, tactics and deployment are the name of the game and if nothing is learned from this sorry state of affairs, then anarchy will rule and become the norm.

People will fear even going out in the streets in the daytime, and the plot is surely lost....

I agree with you on that one, 1000 years ago there were maybe 2000 cows in the whole world, now there are possibly over 120 million, all breaking wind like no tomorrow and creating more pollution ever.

The UK now has too many humans in a very small Island and mob rule is taking over without any change to the ruling government regulations.

Like many people here hold the view that Moslem's have a right to exist, but not in our country.
Same logic should apply to other parts of the world today.
Stay in your own back yard with your hatred and religious belief's.

As a French, and somehow a kind of a specialist about riots in suburbs, I warmly welcome Great Britain in the XXIst Century.

There is absolutely no need for police officers to carry firearms routinely, even with the rioting. The reason it was out of hand is down to the police being criticised for the 'student protests' and the fact that people with vast experience are being retired against their will - you're talking about a 20% or so reduction in numbers over the next few years with no change to workload.

I believe sheep are worse for 'greenhouse gas' emissions...

Meanwhile, lets bring the Army home and dump the rioters in Afghanistan. Wonder how long the little b...tards would last then

Well that's a nice idea and might prove a strong deterrent.

One for Mr Camerons big society concept.

Lets provide a cross over of community service and service in Afghanistan. People caught abusing the UK in this manner are given X Months community service in Afghanistan, unescorted.

Let them see what a safe, comfortable, protected life they have and make them clean up the mess somewhere else. If/when they come back I figure they might have changed their viewpoint. People going out to cause trouble will then have a simple and unquestionable motivation to consider if they really want to cause trouble. They will know what is facing them.

When it comes to risk vs reward there needs to be a bigger risk element added. Watching them being released from court with a slap is not good enough. Has that raised the bar or lowered it in their minds ?

Mind, another tack - take the 'Big Society' to its ultimate conclusion and we wouldn't need Westminster, nor the Police, and if a worldwide model, the Armed Forces (can't do the last though, I'd be out of a job! ).
