On the subject of "sun visors" - those who have them should know - are these effective as wind deflectors "over the top"?
I ask because I can't see any point in having them as sun visors! Surely when folded down they'd simply block most of the view through the screen (unless you are very short indeed)...
I have used ours a visors on the odd occasion that the sun is low in the west but as wind deflectors, they come into their most frequent use. As they say, if you have it, use it. However if you dont?????. The translucent blue perpex ones from Melvyn may be a better bet for both uses.
We already have the solid black factory ones which were no good with the heavy mirror as they clashed when lowered. I Changed that to the small librands and they work fine together now....
OK, Here are some photos of what I have to work from. It seems that what they sent me would fit on the fin project back from the stancheon supporting the windscreen. It is a separate chrome "Z" shape that is screwed between the stancheon and the windscreen chrome frame. I'd like to say that Basil, in the last photo, helped me with the windscreen, but he didn't.
OK. Thanks Phantod. I still have two issues: 1. This install would require that the deflector be positioned inside the cabin when the side curtains are installed. Previous comments regarding rain indicated the deflectors would be outside the side curtains. 2. Which side should the chrome bracket of the deflector be placed? Should they face the exterior or interior of the cabin?
Phantod, Thanks. I see now. I was looking at the more expensive wind deflectors by Simmonds and they seem to bolt through the outside edge of the window stancheon, thus being outside and free of the windows. Am I mistaken about the Simmonds types?
